Journal of International Commercial Law and Technology Relaunches Under New Publisher, Expands Global Editorial Board

2025 — The Journal of International Commercial Law and Technology (JICLT), a respected scholarly platform focusing on the intersection of global trade law and emerging technologies, has officially restarted publication under the stewardship of the KSS.

Originally established in 2006 and published by the International Association of IT Lawyers (IAITL), the journal ran successfully for nearly a decade, publishing high-quality, peer-reviewed research in areas including international trade law, e-commerce regulation, intellectual property, and technology law. The publication paused in 2015, but its reputation as a bridge between academia, legal practice, and the tech sector endured.

With the 2021 relaunch, JICLT has undergone a complete transformation:

  • A revamped editorial structure, with a new global editorial board featuring distinguished scholars and practitioners from across Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, North America, South America, and Oceania.

  • Implementation of modern open-access publishing standards, ensuring all research is freely accessible under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY).

  • A refreshed online platform at www.jiclt.com, optimized for mobile devices and enhanced with advanced search, indexing, and citation tools.

  • Expansion of the journal’s scope to include critical discussions on artificial intelligence, blockchain, digital currencies, and cyber law alongside traditional commercial law topics.

“Our mission is to create an accessible, global platform where law and technology experts can share research, debate policy, and influence the future of international commerce,” said Prof. Helena V. Moretti, newly appointed Editor-in-Chief of JICLT. “This relaunch represents not just a continuation, but an evolution of the journal’s vision.”

The journal will continue its tradition of quarterly publication and maintain a rigorous double-blind peer review process to uphold academic integrity and quality. Manuscripts are welcomed from both established scholars and emerging researchers, with a commitment to fostering interdisciplinary dialogue.

The KSS emphasized that the relaunch also aims to position JICLT for inclusion in leading academic indexing services such as Scopus, Web of Science, and DOAJ, ensuring its research reaches the widest possible audience.

Call for Papers

Submissions are now open for the first relaunch issue, scheduled for publication in December 2021. Authors can submit their work through the journal’s online submission system at www.jiclt.com.
